Have you ever really fancied going out on a nice Sunday in the autumn but are never really sure what is worth doing? Well, I do love a good Sunday outing, and I have a few things that I enjoy doing that you may want to try, or they might not be for you and that's okay, or you might be able to take ideas from these.
A lot of people I know tend to love a good Sunday morning in bed with coffee or tea and like to venture out around midday, which, I won't lie, there have been a few Sundays that I have 'accidentally' gone out at lunch time when I probably would have intended to leave the house around 9 ish.
Breakfast is always a good idea on a Sunday morning, if you're not the type of person to research local cafe's online then I do suggest just going out and trying a new place every Sunday that you do decide to go out. If you like research then that's good, but I would say trying places before judging is better. This way you'll know what you actually do like rather than just looking at a menu and thinking "it doesn't sound like a lot for the price" or "I would rather have extra toast over spinach and bacon" when you will find a lot of places will just swap things for you at no extra cost and with no problem at all.
Another thing to take into consideration is the atmosphere, my boyfriends father has said to me that it doesn't matter how good the menu sounds or how hungry you are, if you don't feel comfortable somewhere, you wouldn't want to sit there for an hour at least, to start off your Sunday would you? And I totally love this, as it means when myself and my boyfriend go out for breakfast I get to find a new excuses for why I would rather be in one of my favourite places as opposed to a new one. Sometimes on the more, 'sleepy Sundays' I just want my favourite place where, again, I am most comfortable.
So this is me knowing that a "sneaky" picture is being taken of me, but I am sat in one of the best places for breakfast in Liverpool, I do believe there a few over the UK. The place is Coffee Moose. Unfortunately me being me, I don't have a photo of my breakfast from Moose, so I thought I would throw in a photo of myself enjoying a good cup of tea. I'm possibly taking a photo of said cup of tea. They have a great variety of breakfast and lunch meals for vegetarians and non vegetarians, and apparently the coffee is amazing, I drink tea but I have heard it's good.
Once you have filled up on whatever sounds good to you, could be a full english breakfast, or some fluffy stacked pancakes covered in a blueberry compote and topped with strawberries, yes I have made myself super hungry now, but you get the picture. After food, a nice stroll around the town center is always good, and you're probably wondering, "why are you strolling around anywhere in the autumn" but it's so refreshing and if you're lucky enough, you may have a chilly but very sunny and rather pretty day.
Here's a photo from one of those pretty days. We took a walk around the city center and walked to the Church of St Luke or more commonly known the Bombed Out Church and went inside for a look around. I find buildings and architecture absolutely stunning. So I had to take a few photos. The sun was in the best position for some pictures, thank you Mr sun.
If you get hungry again after your walk around then I can bet it's probably lunch time, and time to sit inside where there is heating, as I won't lie, our Autumn so far has been super duper chilly and my tartan scarf has become more of a necessity than an accessory. Another one of my favourite places to eat for both breakfast, and lunch is a place in Liverpool called Leaf, not only is the tea the best, and the food delicious, it happens to be one of the places James took me on our first date, so of course it's got to be a favourite of mine.
This is the AMAZING Red Pepper and Tomato soup with focaccia bread. I can't get enough, and normally when we get this for lunch we also add a side of Fried New Potatoes with harissa mayonnaise, and it is beyond tasty.
We normally like to shop around on Bold Street which is where Leaf is located in Liverpool, and we do this for around an hour or so, usually end up in a record shop for James and the Disney shop for both of us. Depending on how tired we are we'll head home after shopping around, or we'll decide whether to walk around a bit more and he always has a story about a shop or building to tell me. We usually don't head back for the train without another hot drink especially when it's cold, and I fell in love with Hotel Chocolat and their hot chocolate at Christmas last year, so we popped in for an all year around chocolate and headed back home.
Basically, that's how I spend most of my Sundays, sometimes it's a little different, for example instead of lots of shopping and walking around admiring buildings with James, sometimes we spend our Sundays at breakfast with his parents and our niece, which is still a perfect way to spend a Sunday.
I wanted to share this with you so you could take some ideas, maybe try and spend your Sundays a similar way. Whether you spend it shopping and eating, with family and friends, or at home binge watching your most loved TV show, I'm sure it's a great Sunday. Let me know how spend yours so I can take some ideas too!
